# Get Model

`GET https://api.vultrinference.com/v1/models/{id}`

Retrieves one model: the same entry `GET /v1/models` lists for it, returned on its own as OpenAI's retrieve does. With an `anthropic-version` header the answer is Anthropic's model object, for the chat models Anthropic's list shows (including the `vultr/claude-code/` aliases). A model ID with a slash can be sent as path segments (`/v1/models/zai-org/GLM-5`) or percent-encoded (`/v1/models/zai-org%2FGLM-5`). IDs are case-sensitive. An unknown ID, or a model that is not currently served, is a 404 in the error envelope.

## Path parameters

- `id` (string, required): The model id, as `GET /v1/models` lists it. An id with a slash is sent as it is (`zai-org/GLM-5`, which the path takes as more segments) or percent-encoded (`zai-org%2FGLM-5`).

## Responses

- `200`: OK
- `400`: Bad Request (error-payload)
- `401`: The API key is missing, unknown or not active. Send it as Authorization: Bearer <key>. (error-payload)
- `404`: No served model has that id. With anthropic-version the body is Anthropic's.
- `502`: The model catalog cannot be read right now. Retry shortly; an empty list is never sent in its place. (error-payload)
- `503`: The list of models being served could not be read, so the request's model could not be resolved. Retry shortly. (error-payload)

## Example

```bash
curl https://api.vultrinference.com/v1/models/{id} \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $VULTR_INFERENCE_API_KEY"
```

```python
import os
import requests
response = requests.get(
    "https://api.vultrinference.com/v1/models/{id}",
    headers={"Authorization": f"Bearer {os.environ['VULTR_INFERENCE_API_KEY']}"},
)
print(response.json())
```

```javascript
const response = await fetch("https://api.vultrinference.com/v1/models/{id}", {
  headers: {
    Authorization: `Bearer ${process.env.VULTR_INFERENCE_API_KEY}`,
  },
});
console.log(await response.json());
```
